Hello folks
This is a blog for regular people to check out if a movie is worth paying to see.
Either on the big screen or in your home.
I am a 41 year old husband, father, traveling sales rep for a promotional firm.
No background in movies or theater
I am just a regular dude who likes movies.
So as my first ever blog, we are going to discuss last nights Oscar winners and losers.
Clooney, my man! I thought he was fantastic in the Descendants, lost out to a frenchy who doesn't even speak. You got hosed bro.
Viloa Davis was great in the The Help and I thought she would win, but this was more of a tribute for Meryl Streep's years of great acting is why SHE won. Not to take anything away from Meryl, but Rooney Mara in the Girl with the Dragon tattoo,
come on. That acting was priceless and not many women could have pulled that of better than her she was my choice as best actress.
Best Picture, I did not see them all but out of the ones I did see, The Help was the best movie. Octavia Spencer was gold and that is why she won. All around a great flick, no need to see on the big screen. Rent it and enjoy some chocolate pie at home while watching :)
I love football and having played a little in high school the movie Undefeated was an easy choice for best Doc.
Animated movie, Rango was the BEST animated movie I have seen in years. Best since the first Shrek or First Toy Story. It is in a class with those classics.
It was super on the big screen, worth the rental but you wont get the full effect on your home TV unless you have a movie theater size screen.
Original Screenplay I thought Bridesmaids was fantastic writing and hilarious with a touch of gross, that guys love. Potty humor is a winner in my book. Midnight in
Adapted screenplay The Descendants was in my top 5 movies of the year and well deserved for oscar.
OMG, the Original song category was weak, if you cant get more than 2 songs dont have the category. I could be the only person who saw the muppets and thought it sucked btw
The other oscars given out blah blah blah, Hugo was the easy choice on most of those technical categories whatever
I will say that I was glad to see Transformers was up for Visual effects and sound because that movie in 3d on big screen was worth every penny--that is what a 3D movie experience should be--I felt like I had wrestled with Autobots myself, I was sore and tired after that experience, which was a good thing
Anyhow, as you can see
I can't spell a lick or have good grammar
